Spirit of Pakistan
After a four-year break from art due to studies and work, I finally stepped back into the world of creativity and in August 2025, I reached a milestone I will always cherish: my first-ever art exhibition and in-person workshop in the United Kingdom.
I had the honour of partnering with the Consulate of Pakistan in Birmingham as part of their week-long initiative, Spirit of Pakistan, where I contributed to three special events.
Exhibition
The journey began with the VIP launch dinner, where I showcased my collection of Qur’anic duʿā artworks. It was an honour to present my work at such a prestigious platform, attended by the Lord Mayor and the Mayor of Birmingham, alongside leaders, creatives, and changemakers. Sharing the stories and meanings behind each piece allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life. This experience filled me with pride, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to preserving and celebrating our heritage through art.
Art Workshop
The following day, I conducted my first in-person art workshop as part of Her Zameen, Her Asmaan. More than 100 children participated, exploring creativity and expression through art. The workshop was graced by distinguished guests including the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Dr. Sarah (wife of Pakistan’s High Commissioner), Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Naila, and many others. It was a heartwarming experience to inspire young minds and witness the joy of children connecting with art as a bridge to their identity and heritage.
Independence Day Speech
The following day, I conducted my first in-person art workshop as part of Her Zameen, Her Asmaan. More than 100 children participated, exploring creativity and expression through art. The workshop was graced by distinguished guests including the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Dr. Sarah (wife of Pakistan’s High Commissioner), Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Naila, and many others. It was a heartwarming experience to inspire young minds and witness the joy of children connecting with art as a bridge to their identity and heritage.
Invited by Mrs. Bukhtawar, Head of Chancellery, I unveiled the artwork after the flag-hoisting ceremony, in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, the Consul General, and Cabinet members. Following their speeches, I shared my reflections on heritage, identity, and the inspiration behind my work.
Alhamdulillah, returning to art after years of pause and beginning this new chapter with my first exhibition, workshop, and an Independence Day tribute in collaboration with the Consulate General of Pakistan in Birmingham, UK has been a journey filled with pride, gratitude, and deep fulfilment.
Handmade
Quran Project
This project will always hold a special place in my heart. I was approached by a prestigious Iraqi library to design the main page of the Qur’an entirely by hand. At first, I couldn’t believe the message was real. It felt too great an honour to be true.
Over the next six months, I poured my heart into every detail, choosing a red and green colour palette that reflected both tradition and beauty. Every stroke was made with the intention of honouring the sacred words it would frame.
Alhamdulilah, upon completion, I received a heartfelt video message of appreciation from the library’s owner. A gesture I will always treasure. Today, more than 10,000 copies of this Qur’an have been published, each carrying my name at the start as its designer. It is a blessing I could never have imagined, and one I am endlessly grateful for.
State of the Global Islamic Economy Report
I had the honour of joining the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2020/21 as a Gen Z commentator. This prestigious report now in its eighth edition and covering Islamic finance, halal food & beverages, modest fashion, travel, media, cosmetics, and more continues to shape the Muslim world’s economic narrative.
As a voice of my generation, I added my perspective to the report’s Youth Spotlight section, reflecting on how Islamic economy sectors resonate with Gen Z values and influence our future. It was a meaningful opportunity to blend my insights with global data, exploring how belonging, purpose, and creativity intersect in a growing, ethically-minded economy.
