بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
Translation
Bismillahir rahmanir raheem
Alhamdu lillahi rabbil alameen
Ar rahmanir raheem
Maliki yawmid deen
Iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nasta’een
Ihdinas siratal mustaqeem
Siratal ladhina an’amta alayhim ghayril maghdubi alayhim walad daalleen

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds — the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment.
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
Guide us to the straight path — the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour, not of those who have evoked anger, nor of those who are astray.
The Essence of the Surah
Al-Fatiha is the opening of the Qur’an and the heart of prayer (Salah). It is a dialogue between servant and Lord, encompassing praise, worship, dependence, and a plea for guidance. The Prophet ﷺ said that no prayer is complete without it, and it is often called Umm al-Kitab (Mother of the Book).
